Where to begin? There's so much stuff that's on my heart to share but that'll have to come at a little later. I guess I'll start off with explaining my reasoning and inspiration for starting a blog.
My inspiration comes from the Bible in Deuteronomy 14:2
"You have been set apart as holy to the LORD your God, and he has chosen you from all the nations of the earth to be his own special treasure."
and 1 John 4:7-8
"Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love."
These verses are telling us that, as Christians, we are God's chosen people and are called to love everyone we come in contact with. Living a life that is set apart as holy to God is difficult, trust me. We live in a world where conformity is a norm and where those that are shown prejudice. I want to tell you that being different is okay. Today, being "different" is looked down upon because typically, people who are different are weird and don't have any friends.
dif·fer·ent
/ˈdif(ə)rənt/ adjective
not the same as another or each other; unlike in nature, form, or quality.
OR
distinct; separate
So being different doesn't have to have a negative meaning. Embrace being you and being unlike those around you. It might be lonely for a while but you'll eventually find a great group of friends that will help you embrace who God made you to be.
"May the LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may the LORD lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace."
Numbers 6:24-26
